港大历史上还曾有圣母玫瑰堂，惟因故停办。明原堂于1992年搬迁，易名为利希慎堂。马礼逊堂曾于1968年停办，2005年重开；然而主办者已由伦敦传道会及后来的中华基督教会变为大学本身。港大采取的是渐进式的教学模式，淡化了期末考试的重要性；为了更加合理地评价一名学生的水平，老师平时会留一些很有针对性的作业，其目的是考察学生跟随课程学习的进度。这种渐进式教学方式既可以保证学生平时的学习质量，又给了学生充裕的自由可支配时间。
