margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://info.compassedu.hk/info_imgUrl_phpv0MKv9.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p> </p> <h1><strong>我只想读一个排名高点的一年硕。</strong></h1> <p> </p> <p>高考完刚上大学的时候，我完全没有留学的想法，对未来也没有什么长远的规划。在大学的生活和与别人的交流中，我渐渐萌生了去外面看看的想法，不只是国内的其他省市，也要出国感受一下不一样的文化。</p> <p> </p> <p><img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://info.compassedu.hk/info_imgUrl_php19a3hv.jpg" alt="" width="489" height="364" /></p> <p> </p> <p>于是，大四时在保研和出国两者中，我毅然决然的选择了出国留学这条道路。第一是想感受一下不同的生活环境、不同的教学体制；第二也是想拓宽一下视野，给自己的人生多增加几种可能性。</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>其实一开始主要考虑的只是读个排名高一点的一年硕士，方便实习找工作。</strong>所以，新加坡国立大学或者南洋理工大学的商科项目便成为了我的首选目标，因为离家近学制短认可度高，也方便实习找工作。</p> <p> </p> <p>然而，在向中介评估申请难度与选校建议时，指南者为我打开了英国牛津大学的大门。</p> <p> </p> <h1><strong>高额奖学金让我选了南极星。</strong></h1> <p> </p> <p>在刚开始准备留学申请的时候，我也选择了中介辅导。但是市面上中介良莠不齐，如何选择一个合适的、性价比高的便成了首要考虑的问题。</p> <p> </p> <p>一次偶然的机会我认识到了指南者的老师。虽然只是前期咨询，但老师还是认真回答了我的各种问题，通过了解我的各方面背景，为我推荐合适的专业和学校；还为我推荐了一系列提升软背景的方法。</p> <p> </p> <p>秉持着货比三家的原则，我一开始并没有盲目选择指南者，也对其他中介进行了咨询。比较一圈下来，我发现，其他中介要不是价格过高，要不是文书质量没有保证，甚至会不会中途卷钱跑路都是未知数。</p> <p> </p> <p><img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://info.compassedu.hk/info_imgUrl_php5fMIqb.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p> </p> <p><img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://info.compassedu.hk/info_imgUrl_phpRJ5ADI.jpg" alt="" width="287" height="511" /></p> <p> </p> <p>并且，指南者最使我动心的点在于他的辅导方案的多样性，会根据不同学生的背景因材施教，推荐不同的辅导套餐。比如说，我最终选择指南者的最大原因就是他们的<span style="background-color: #ffd900;">“南极星计划”，</span><strong>参加南极星计划，我不仅有机会可以得到高额奖金，也会接受五对一的全程辅导，有学术mentor、申请主导师、规划主导师、文书导师以及外籍导师</strong>；同时，也提供各种提升软背景的机会。</p> <p> </p> <p>也就是在一开始向指南者导师咨询时，他给我推荐了英国牛津大学的这个项目作为冲刺计划。我也觉得非常合适，便爽快的签约了指南者，加入了南极星计划，开始一起文书写作之旅。</p> <p> </p> <p>这里不得不夸一夸指南者老师在文书写作上给予我的帮助。<span style="color: #0086d1;">与其他学校不同，牛津大学对候选人的考察非常学术。</span>在个人陈述中不仅需要体现已有的研究水平，更要展现研究生期间的研究兴趣。此外，在申请英国牛津大学时还需要提交两篇两千字的writing sample作为申请人学术能力的体现，有的还需要交一篇研究计划书。</p> <p> </p> <p>这是最困难的一部分，而南极星计划的学术mentor很好的弥补了这一点。初期，当我还在纠结论文主题时，指南者导师会定期安排我与学术mentor线上沟通，一起头脑风暴讨论学术写作要点以及思路；<span style="color: #0086d1;">她不会强制推荐我的研究方向，而是基于我自身的研究兴趣，循序渐进进行指导与启发</span>，使最终的选题不仅能体现我的研究能力，也是我所感兴趣的方面，为我之后的写作指明了道路。</p> <p> </p> <p>除此之外，指南者导师还帮助我修改和完善了简历、个人陈述以及推荐信的部分，效率也都很高。还会积极督促我按时完成各种稿件，十分负责。 </p> <p> </p> <h1><strong>收到牛津offer了，还剩语言关。</strong></h1> <p> </p> <p>由于我有一点儿点儿拖延症，文书改了一稿又一稿，直到1月中旬快到最终截止日期时才把所有文书都准备完成递交了上去。接下来就是漫长的等待。等待的过程是焦虑的，<span style="color: #0086d1;">直到二月份收到了第一封UCL的offer，算是给了自己一颗定心丸。</span></p> <p> </p> <p>当时对于牛津录取心里其实是没底的，等待的过程中一直在刷小红书上关于牛津的offer动态，也发现录取的大多数学生gpa都要到90，看着看着就感觉自己没啥录取希望了。但就这样等到3月初，终于收到了牛津的录取通知书；当时的心情也是异常激动的，随即也接收了offer，<span style="color: #0086d1;">令我惊讶的是，学校仅仅要求我达到二等一级，即85分。</span>这一发现让我意识到，即便是像牛津这样的名校，如果真的看重一个学生的潜力和综合素质，也不会仅仅因为标准化成绩而将人拒之门外。基本确定要去牛津完成下一步的学习之旅了。</p> <p> </p> <p>然而，语言成绩却成为了我眼前的一道难关。由于英国特殊的申请机制，申请者在提交申请材料时不需要提交语言成绩，语言成绩也不会影响最终是否会被录取。<strong><span style="color: #0086d1;">当然，英国的offer都属于条件录取，意味着及时一开始收到了录取通知，如果没有按时提交语言成绩的话，offer也有被收回的可能性。</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p>牛津大学的语言要求不低：雅思总分7.5，单科小分要在7以上；托福的话要求总分110分。</p> <p> </p> <p><img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://info.compassedu.hk/info_imgUrl_phppJf1jA.jpg" alt="" data-znz-article-border="1" /></p> <p> </p> <p>然而我当时的英语水平并不是很好，所以，虽然拿到了牛津大学的录取通知，但是激动的心情并没有持续很久，<span style="color: #0086d1;">转身又投入了无休止的备考语言的征途。</span></p> <p> </p> <p>而且当时正在大四下学期，有毕业论文和实习等各种杂七杂八的事情，这种雪上加霜无疑使我的语言备考更加焦虑，每日都是学到深夜才回宿舍。不过好在，经过不懈努力，最终还是在截止日期之前提交了合格的语言成绩，换取了无条件录取的offer，得以顺利入学。</p> <p> </p> <h1><strong>写在最后</strong></h1> <p> </p> <p>总的来说，在牛津申请过程中，什么都很重要，但是又没有什么是最重要的，需要全面。在牛津对于申请人的评价表中，标化成绩占百分之二十五，个人陈述占百分之二十五，两篇写作样本占百分之二十五，推荐信与和项目的契合度共占最后的百分之二十五。由此可以看出，相比于一味地刷科研刷实习包装简历，<strong>在个人陈述中展现出自己的研究兴趣以及对于未来的清晰的规划才是最重要的。</strong></p> <p><img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://info.compassedu.hk/info_imgUrl_phpGVAUHd.jpg" alt="" width="499" height="369" /></p> <p> </p> <p>对于很多人所痴迷的刷实习刷科研，需要思辨性的看待。</p> <p> </p> <p>首先，成果肯定是多多益善的，但是要注重质量，不能有量没有质；那些付费实习付费科研更是碰都不能碰的。</p> <p> </p> <p>牛津的这些老师都是各个领域的专家学者，论文的好坏他们是一眼就能看出来的；但是，这也没有要求做到完美，硕士拿到distinction的毕业论文也不见得具备发表的水平，许多英国的博士毕业也没有文章发表（当然这对于回国找教职来说是一种劣势）。</p> <p> </p> <p>所以我想说的是，申请牛津对成果的研究没有那么高，特别当申请人是本科刚毕业的学生的时候；<strong><span style="color: #0086d1;">所以与其耗尽心思琢磨如何水低质量的文章，不如做一些与自己当前身份相符的事情，多多打磨自己申硕的动机与未来规划</span></strong>，毕竟对于英国人来说，硕士不是一条必须的道路。 </p> <p> </p> <p>最后希望大家都可以顺利收到心仪大学的offer。</p> <p> </p> <p><em><strong>END</strong></em></p> <p> </p> <div class="qrcode-content-wrapper" contenteditable="false"> <div style="position: absolute;
